Carry-On Baggage

1. The airline allows one small personal item with maximum dimension of 18 x 14 x 8 inches (45 x 35 x 20 cm).

2. If an additional or larger item is carried with dimensions of 22 x 18 x 10 inches (56 x 46 x 25 cm) then a fee of $37 will apply. The fee for member of the $9 fare club is $28.

3. Items like diaper bag and a pushchair would not count towards carry-on allowance.

4. Passengers can carry musical instruments as standard carry-on bags.

5. Certain items are prohibited from bringing on board like:

Checked Baggage

• Passengers can check five bags.
• A bag should not exceed linear dimension of 62 inches (158 cm) and should not weigh above 40 lbs (18.1 kg).
• A fee will apply to check baggage depending on if you are a member of fare club, the time you check bags and where you check.

The standard fee is

• 1st checked bag - $31
• 2nd checked bag - $41
• 3 – 5th checked bag - $85

If a checked bag exceeds allowed dimension or weight an additional fee may apply.

• For bag weighing between 41-50 lbs. (18-23 kg) - $30
• For bag weighing between 51-70 lbs. (23-32 kg) - $55
• For bag weighing between 71 - 100 lbs. (32-45 kg) - $100
• For bag with dimensions are between 68 - 80 inches - $100
• For bag with dimensions above 80 linear inches - $150

The airline allows sports equipment like surf boards or bikes, golf bags, and musical instruments as checked luggage.

Spirit Airlines Group Travel

Spirit Airlines also provides Group Travel programs. If you are planning to travel in a group of 10 or more people, then you can opt for their group travel where airlines provide a guaranteed price for all passengers in the group.

Policies of Group Travel

• Passengers can get 10 or more confirmed seats without entire payment if there are more than 60. The final payment needs to be made before 60 days to departure.
• In group booking, passengers can change name for free up to 30 days before departure. After 30 days a $50.00 fee will apply per person.
• Passengers need to complete a Group Form Request to request for a Group travel quotes. The airline will send the quote within 3 business days.
• Passengers need to submit a non-refundable booking fee of $5.00 per person to confirm group reservation.
• Also they need to submit a non-refundable fee of $40 per person within 7 days of booking for travel that are after 60 days.
